Alexandre Lacazette has been the name that has dominated Arsenal’s transfer rumours this summer.

Much has been said about the possibility of the Frenchman linking up with Arsene Wenger in north London next season and it appears as if that may come to fruition, within the next 48 hours no less.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has denied reports of a €67 million deal being reported in the English press and in doing so, confirmed the move by clarifying that the price will be met at a fee closer to €50 million.

‘The €67m figure (plus €12m bonuses) announced by English sources & then relayed constitute an impossible sum that’s not realistic’, Aulas told Le Progres.

‘The deal will happen for something between €45m and €50m.’

‘To be close to €50m is something unique, and will be without a doubt a record for Arsenal and a record for Lyon absolutely.’
