Manchester United made a big effort to land Gareth Bale in the summer of 2013 but the then Tottenham star had his heart set on Real Madrid.

After four seasons at the Bernabeu, Bale is once again being courted by the Premier League outfit.

The club are reportedly in the market for a big-name signing and would be keen to add more pace and goals from wide areas.

Bale has enjoyed an accomplished spell in the Spanish capital, winning nine trophies including three Champions Leagues.
