Manchester United may have only completed one major transfer deal this summer so far – the signing of Victor Lindelof – but Jose Mourinho’s men have constantly been linked with stars from big teams throughout Europe.

Here, we take a look at the key names United have rumoured to be close to signing in the coming weeks.

There’s no shortage of talent in this list, nor talk of huge transfer fees.

Let us know your thoughts, too – get in touch on Twitter and via Facebook.

DONE DEALS SO FAR…

VICTOR LINDELOF

DEAL DONE

The Swedish centre-back penned a four-year deal with the Red Devils on June 14th to become the club’s first summer signing.

Lindelof, who made his name at Benfica, will add strength and depth to Jose Mourinho’s backline next term.

RATING:8 – A steady acquisition for United, and at 22, has to learn quickly in the Premier League – although he has huge potential.

Will Lindelof be a hit at Old Trafford?

MANCHESTER UNITED SUMMER TARGETS

ANDREA BELOTTI

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 8 OUT OF 10

The Torino hitman was on fire last season, smashing home 23 Serie A goals and is reportedly keen to move to Old Trafford.

While Belotti has a €100 million buyout clause in his contract, United are convinved they can land the 23-year-old with a bid just below that figure.

It would be harsh to say Belotti is a back-up signing if the Red Devils don’t land Alvaro Morata, he is better then that.

Expect more activity on this deal in the coming days with rumours suggesting he is due to meet with United representatives for talks.

Could the Torino ace spearhead United’s attack?

MARCO VERRATTI

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 7 OUT OF 10

Another Italian, but this man plys his trade for Paris Saint-Germain – though – for how much longer will that be the case?

The diminutive but aggressive defensive midfield star has been dominating gossip columns all summer and Man United have made it clear they are interested to secure his services – but face firm competition from Barcelona.

Veratti’s midfield engine and ability to cover plenty of ground would suit the fast-paced nature of the Premier League, while freeing up the likes of Paul Pogba to get in touch with his creative side more often.

PSG would be unwilling to let the 24-year-old go on the cheap and have apparently slapped a €70 million price tag on him.

Veratti would improve most midfields.

MICHAEL KEANE

The Burnley defender is reportedly edging closer to a move to Everton, and with Lindelof deal done, United’s interest in the England star may have cooled.

That said, Mourinho’s men rate the 24-year-old highly and Keane is thought to be keen on returning to the Reds – the club where he started his career all those years ago.

Keane: Reportedly set for Goodison Park.

HARRY KANE

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 2 OUT OF 10

It seems like just a fantasy rumour now but ‘Kane to United’ did gather some pace immediately after the end of last season.

However, the England captain looks immovable from Tottenham now and isn’t going anywhere.

Kane is unlikely to move away from Spurs.

FABINHO

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 5 OUT OF 10

United have been linked with Monaco’s versatile defender turned midfielder all summer but they will have to move quickly now if they want to secure a deal for the 23-year-old.

According to reports in France, Fabinho is set to join PSG in a big-money deal after they were more forthcoming with a concrete offer.

United feel the need to strengthen in defence but may now have to look elsewhere.

The Monaco ace was outstanding last season.

GARETH BALE

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 5 OUT OF 10

Again, another potential transfer that doesn’t have much substance to it at present, but it sure makes for good headlines.

Last season was the toughest for Bale in a Real Madrid jersey, and despite adding another two trophies to his cabinet, injuries and consistent form meant he bared the brunt of boos from the Bernabeu faithful.

The Welshman is sure to want to stay in the Spanish capital and fight for his place, but if he does decide to change clubs – surely a return to the Premier League and United would be his combined pick.

Probably just a rumour.

ANTOINE GRIEZMANN

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 1 OUT OF 10

This is a deal you could see happening in the coming seasons but obviously not next season given the Frenchman’s commitment to Atletico.

Did United do enough in the first instance to convince him to sign for the club? It’s hard to say, but Griezmann sent many signals that he would love to don the famous red shirt.

Ed Woodward and Co will have to watch on for another 12 months before going back in for the prolific forward.

Griezmann is committed to Atletico.

NEMANJA MATIC

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 8 OUT OF 10

The Serbian is a man Mourinho knows well after signing him for Chelsea back in January 2014, and as such, the Portuguese knows what he’s going to get with the 28-year-old talisman.

Matic is a proven Premier League star, and with two titles to his name, would fit in right away at United.

The deal is apparently in the process of happening so it’s another case of watch this space over the next few days.

Matic looks set for Old Trafford.

JAMES RODRIGUEZ

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 7 OUT OF 10

Perhaps the biggest transfer saga of the summer? When will James leave Madrid and where will he go?

The Colombian is too talented to only be a bit-part player at the Bernabeu and United know they need to up the ante in their efforts to sign him.

The playmaker is available and a bid in the region of £60m should be enough to land him – that’s about the going rate. James may have the option to go to Italy or even Spain, but his representatives have made it crystal clear that United is the club for him.

One of the summer’s long-running transfer sagas.

ALVARO MORATA

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 8 OUT OF 10

If the Rodriguez saga is the biggest of the summer then this is a very close second.

Morata, for all his goals and productivity for Real Madrid last season (when selected), looks likely to be cast aside by Zinedine Zidane and everything about the striker shouts ‘Premier League’.

He has pace in abundance, predatory instincts in the penalty box and a proven track record in front of goal – he is just the man United need to fill the void of Zlatan (and dare we say it), even Wayne Rooney.

Morata performed well when called upon last season.

RADJA NAINGGOLAN

CHANCES OF A DEAL HAPPENING? 8 OUT OF 10

The 29-year-old Belgian star has apparently admitted he wants a move to the Premier League but he isn’t at the very top of United’s target list.

A move for the Roma star would depend on what happens with Verratti and Matic, but he would be a more than capable back-up option.

Will the Roma man leave Serie A?
