Chelsea face unexpected competition for Drogba from Premier League rival

Didier Drogba is linked with a surprise move to Manchester City.

Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo has broken his metatarsal and is sidelined for up to four months so the current Premier League champions need a reliable replacement. Drogba certainly suits the bill.

The Ivorian scored 100 goals in 226 appearances and was crowned the Premier League golden boot winner twice for Chelsea.

The 36-year-old may be coming to the end of his career but he would be a worthy acquisition for Pellegrini's side if they can offer a more lucrative deal than his beloved Chelsea.
