Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso insists there is a possibility of the club signing Sevilla star Luis Muriel in January.

The Colombian has started just one game this season and is tipped for a loan move away from Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

El Mundo reports a deal with the Milan side was close but other reports have not ruled out Fiorentina or Sampdoria to make a swoop for the forward.

“I don’t know if we’ve got him, but we have talked about him,” Gattuso told Sky Sport Italia.

“We talked about him, as we did about other players.

“Muriel can play wide, but you need to make the most of his characteristics and get him to attack the goal. He can play as a support striker too.”

The 27-year-old has failed to convince manager Pablo Machin why he deserves a start ahead of Wissam Ben Yedder and Andre Silva.
