Zlatan Ibrahimovic responded to speculation linking him with an AC Milan return in typical fashion.

The LA Galaxy striker, who has scored 20 goals in 24 appearances for the club he joined in March, was asked by TMZ about a potential return to the Serie A club.

“There are always rumours. The whole world wants me. It’s okay,” the Swede said.

Ibrahimovic scored 56 goals in 85 appearances for Milan in two seasons from 2010 to 2012, winning the league title in 2010-11.

Though the striker didn’t rule out a return, figures at the club seem to have done so, with sporting director Leonardo telling Sky Sports Italia there was little chance it would happen.

“Ibra has very close ties to Milan, everyone knows this,” he said.

“We cannot deny it was more than a brief thought going through our minds when we first arrived, as he is extraordinary and has very specific characteristics, but right now it’s not possible.”
