AC Milan will put out a much-changed team when they play their first game of the 2017/18 Serie A season at Crotone on Sunday evening.

The Rossoneri, now under Chinese ownership, have been the busiest top-flight club in the transfer window so far, bringing no fewer than nine high-profile players to San Siro this summer.

Here, we cast a look over the new faces in the Milan squad.

LEONARDO BONUCCI

The shock move of the summer in Italy – and perhaps Europe – saw long-serving Juventus centre-back Bonucci switch his allegiance to Milan for around €40 million.

Regarded as one of the best defenders in the world, Bonucci is also the new captain at San Siro and will add steel to the back-line while improving Milan’s build-up play with his excellent ability on the ball.

ANDRE SILVA

Before Bonucci arrived Silva looked like being Milan’s marquee signing after making a €38 million switch from Porto, for whom he scored 16 league goals last season.

A speedy mover with great finishing and creativity, the 21-year-old will provide a focal point for Spanish winger Suso.

ANDREA CONTI

The first of two captures from Atalanta, Conti is one of the talents in Italy and his arrival proves the club are keen to build foundations for a brighter future at San Siro.

A natural right-back, Conti can also play at centre-back or in a defensive midfield role.

He is strong in the air and in the tackle too.

HAKAN CALHANOGLU

Calhanoglu has been impressing Bundesliga crowds for years with his excellent free-kicks and long-range shots during his time with Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen and Milan have now invested €20 million in the set-piece expert.

He has something to prove after serving a four-month FIFA ban for breach of contract towards the end of his spell with Leverkusen.

MATEO MUSACCHIO

The Argentinian centre-back will add experience, physicality and class to the Rossoneri back-line.

RICARDO RODRIGUEZ

Left-back Rodriguez was long linked with Premier League clubs thanks to his consistent performances for Wolfsburg over six years.

With rivals dithering, Milan made a shrewd swoop for him.

LUCAS BIGLIA

Biglia surprised many when hitting the ground running at Lazio following his 2013 switch from Belgian club Anderlecht, and the Argentinian is now firmly established as one of the best midfielders in Italy.

A pass-master with pin-point distribution, he will help to dictate the pace of play for often-erratic Milan.

FRANCK KESSIE

Along with Conti, Kessie was a key performer as Atalanta finished fourth in Serie A for the first time last season.

The 20-year-old Ivorian has been likened to Yaya Toure given his marauding presence in a deep-lying position in midfield.

If he carves out a niche at San Siro, he might represent Milan’s best business of a busy summer.

FABIO BORINI

Sunderland and Liverpool fans raised their eyebrows when Milan called Wearside for Borini, and the inconsistent winger is unlikely to be more than a squad player for the cups during his loan stint.
