Real Madrid played out a goalless stalemate away to Getafe in La Liga on Thursday night.

The only real excitement from the encounter came from Brahim Diaz. Some of the moves the 19-year-old pulled off were breath-taking but none led to a goal for his side.

Here, we rate the performances of the Madrid players.

STARTING XI (4-3-3)

Keylor Navas – Had one free-kick to parry away in the first half before a world class double save in the 73rd minute. 7

Dani Carvajal – Decent shot from range in the second half. Also set up Isco for a great chance. 6

Raphael Varane – Not very accurate with his passing and seemed vulnerable at times. 5

Nacho Fernandez – Steady at the back, making plenty of big clearances. 6

Sergio Reguilon – Solid performance in defence and got forward when he could but never really caused problems. 6

Federico Valverde – Can’t fault him for commitment to the cause but showed little to suggest he’s good enough to start in Madrid’s midfield. 5

Casemiro – Dipping shot from distance was awkward for Soria to deal with. Anchored the midfield well and was absolutely dominant in the air. 7

Isco – Set up Benzema with a great chance early on. seemed to thrive in an advanced midfield role. Nearly scored from Carvajal’s cut-back. 7

Brahim Diaz – Great close control, technique and acceleration. Clever play and was the standout player for Real. Produced a few moments of magic. 8

Karim Benzema – Spurned a glorious opportunity in the second minute, putting his effort wide. Looked a threat in behind and produced a save from Soria in the first half. 6

Gareth Bale – A few good moments as he made inroads down the left but really should be playing a bigger role. 5

SUBS

Marco Asensio (for Bale 71′) – Disappointed when he came on, making no impact. 5

Lucas Vazquez (for Diaz 71′) – A dive late in the game his only contribution. 5

Toni Kroos (for Valverde 78′) – Some good passing but little time to effect proceedings. N/A
