Real Madrid wonderkid Vinicius Junior has clearly converted himself from a future prospect to one of the first names on the Los Blancos team-sheet.

The pressure is sure to kick in some day, but the Brazilian appears confident and hungry for more promising performances.

The forward scored in the 3-0 victory over Alaves on Sunday night and hopes to contribute as much as possible to the team’s success.

“What’s coming doesn’t scare me,” he said after the match, according to Marca. “I play for Madrid.

“I play for the best team in the world. I don’t fear anything.”

The versatile forward has shown that he can perform as a striker and on either wing too, but Vinicius has no preference – he just wants to play.

“I play wherever the coach thinks is best,” said the 18-year-old, who has been involved in four consecutive Madrid wins.

“I will do anything to help the team.

“On the right, the left or in the middle, I will continue working to win with Madrid.”

Los Blancos now face Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in a span of five days in the Copa Del Rey and league respectively, with the Champions League to come. But Vinicius is confident of putting on a good show.

“The derby is a great scenario,” he added. “We have to rest a little now and work to win in Barcelona.”
