Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Manchester City academy star Brahim Diaz, ending weeks of speculation over the future of the Spanish youngster.

The 19-year-old Diaz, who earned a Premier League winners’ medal last season after making five league appearances for City, has signed a deal until 2025.

Madrid are reportedly paying a transfer fee in the region of £15-16million, while reports on Saturday suggested that City have included a 15 per cent sell-on clause in the transfer – a clause that would rise to 40 per cent if Madrid sold the player to Manchester United.

Diaz’s contract at City was set to expire at the end of the season.

The youngster, who was born in Malaga, will be presented at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday, after completing a medical.
