Sergio Ramos insists he has no say on whether Real Madrid could be tempted into bringing Jose Mourinho back to the Spanish capital.

With Madrid struggling under Santiago Solari and Mourinho entering the market after being sacked by Manchester United, it did not take much time for murmurs of Mourinho’s potential return to Real turn into rumours.

Los Blancos captain Ramos was asked about his opinion on the Portuguese returning to Spain. But the defender made his annoyance on the matter very clear.

“I’m nobody to decide who the Real Madrid coach is,” he said at the press conference ahead of the Club World Cup final with Al Ain in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

“We’ve been without Mourinho for five years and you’re still talking about him. We have the chance to win a title and we’re talking about Mourinho.

“A captain doesn’t decide the coaches.”
