Karim Benzema has now spent a decade at Real Madrid and has been a key player for Los Blancos throughout his journey.

However, his apparent drop in form in recent years has drawn a lot of criticism from pundits and fans alike.

The French forward, who turns 31 later this month, has scored 202 goals in 433 games for the Spanish giants and will be looking to extend those numbers in the years to come.

And for all his class in front of goal, teammate Luka Modric believes Benzema’s skillset is underappreciated by the football public.

“He is a very nice person and a great scorer,” Modric told Telefoot.

“I think people do not realise how good he is, they do not realize how important he is to our team.”
