Wales superstar Gareth Bale has praised the expansive outlook utilised by teams in the Champions League.

The three-time-successive winners beat Roma 2-0 on Tuesday in a match in which Bale, 29, opened the scoring and played a major role in Lucas Vazquez’s settler.

“It’s a different competition than the league,” the forward said to Real Madrid TV.

“It’s played differently against teams that want to play football. It’s natural, it’s hard to explain.”

Victory saw Madrid seal top spot in Group G, with a game spare. In contrast, they sit sixth in La Liga.
