Real Madrid fans exploded with rage at Thibaut Courtois, with angry supporters taking to Twitter to label the Belgian the club’s worst-ever signing following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Eibar.

Eibar had only scored three goals against Real in their history, but managed to put three past Courtois in one afternoon as new Los Blancos boss Santiago Solari’s permanent reign got off to a shocking start.

Real Madrid were subject to 90 minutes of pure humiliation at Ipurua as a Marc Cucurella-led Eibar dismantled the European champions in a 3-0 win.

Los Blancos experienced their first defeat in the Santiago Scolari era in the very next game after the Spaniard was handed a permanent contract. We take a look at some of the talking points from the game.

Eibar claimed their first ever win over Real Madrid in spectacular fashion to hand Santiago Solari his first defeat at the helm of the Spanish giants.

Solari had made the best start by any boss in Real’s history with four successive victories after taking over on an interim basis and he was given a permanent deal until 2021 during the international break.
