Santiago Solari has officially passed his audition at Real Madrid and will become their permament head coach, according to the Spanish football federation (RFEF).

Solari has steered the club from the midst of a crisis left by Julen Lopetegui to four wins on the bounce, with the 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo on Sunday seemingly sealing the deal.

Real needed to make a decision by Monday – by La Liga rule an interim head coach must not be in place for a period exceeding 15 days – and papers filed to RFEF show that the board have indeed green lit Solari’s stay.

“Everything is in order. Real Madrid have worked out his contract and there are no problems,” the Spanish football federation stated.
