Lucas Vazquez mocks ‘crisis’ talk at Real Madrid

13:12 12/11/2018

Winger Lucas Vazquez has made light of the apparent “crisis” at Real Madrid after they moved within four points of La Liga champions Barcelona.

Los Blancos beat Celta Vigo 4-2 on Sunday night, hours after Barcelona surprisingly fell to a 4-3 loss to Real Betis. This was their first reversal at home in the top flight since September 2016.

These results moved managerless Madrid – for whom temporary boss Santiago Solari keeps impressing – within four points of their El Clasico rivals.

“It was a very important match for us, we win again and when you chase good results, confidence increases and things come out,” Vazquez was reported as saying by Marca.

“So much crisis and we are four points behind Barcelona. We will continue working to reduce that distance and fighting for the title.”

Madrid have a great chance of closing the gap further after the international break. They resume on November 24 at Eibar, while Barca travel to Atletico Madrid.
