Karim Benzema has come under pressure after another poor start to the season, but Real Madrid caretaker boss Santiago Solari is confident the forward will fire.

The Frenchman has failed to score in his last eight La Liga fixtures and his four goals in the league this term have come in just two fixtures.

He again failed to find the target in Los Blancos’ 2-0 victory over Real Valladolid on Saturday, yet Solari has defended his No9.

“I’m not the one who is going to discover him. He was liked by the previous managers and he’s an incredible player,” he said.

“He’s got incredible tactics, he makes his team-mates better and he worked very hard also in defence which I think are fantastic characteristics which say a lot about him.”
