If being humiliated by their rivals and dropping to ninth place in the league didn’t suffice, Real Madrid now have some injuries to worry about after losing Varane to a groin injury.

The Frenchman will be joining Marcelo on the sideline for a month. Mariano Diaz is also injured and the forward will be sidelined for about ten days.

The Argentine who was appointed as interim manager for Real Madrid hasn’t ruled out a full-time position at the club but maintains that the priority is to win the Copa Del Rey match against third division side Melilla on Wednesday night.

Gareth Bale’s agent hit back at Jorge Valdano’s criticism of the player after the club legend and former sporting director said the Welshman hasn’t justified his €100million price tag.
