It is becoming increasingly likely that Antonio Conte will replace Julen Lopetegui as Real Madrid manager.

Los Blancos suffered an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at Camp Nou on Sunday night and the Spaniard is expected to be dismissed in the aftermath.

Florentino Perez is and his directors are set to replace Lopetegui with Conte next week, according to Marca.

Alternatively, Santiago Solari who looks after the reserve team will take temporary charge of the senior squad and is tasked to oversee Wednesday’s Copa del Rey game against Melilla in any case.

After resolving contract issues with Chelsea, Conte should be Madrid’s coach soon.

Perez left Camp Nou as soon as the game was over, opting not to speak with any players or members of the coaching staff.
