Vinicius Jr scores stunner for Real Madrid B, is then sent off and should miss Barcelona clash

Real Madrid witnessed the good and bad sides of Brazilian youngster Vinicius Jr on Sunday.

Vinicius, 18, produced an outstanding free-kick on 83 minutes to secure a 1-1 draw for Real Madrid Castilla against Celta Vigo B in Segunda Division B. But a second yellow card for simulation soon followed, with his red card set to rule the electric forward out of next Sunday’s El Clasico meeting at Barcelona.

The €46 million buy from Flamengo was enraged at the decision and gestured to the home crowd by pointing to the badge on his shirt.

Royal Spanish Football Federation [RFEF] rules mean that suspensions apply to both Castilla and senior sides. An appeal, however, would see the ban temporarily lifted.

Vinicius – who arrived in the summer after a deal was agreed in May 2017 – has played just 12 minutes in La Liga. He was not part of the 18-man match-day squad that lost 2-1 to Levante on Saturday.
