Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has suffered no damage to his groin after undergoing scans, doctors have revealed.

The Welshman exited the Madrid derby against Atletico with a muscle injury and has not been included in Julen Lopetegui’s squad for Tuesday’s game against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

While Madrid will be without the winger for the European encounter, they could get Bale back in time for Alaves next Saturday in La Liga.

However, considering Bale’s history with muscle injuries, Real may be better off taking a cautious approach and working him back slowly.

In the meantime, they’ll have to manage with fewer stars than the club is used to.
