Real Madrid travel to Moscow for their second Champions League group match on Tuesday night.

However, Gareth Bale did not board the flight ahead of the clash with CSKA Moscow, football journalist Sid Lowe reports.

The Welshman did not emerge for the second half of the Madrid derby against Atletico on Saturday having suffered a thigh strain.

There are fears in the Los Blancos camp that the star could face a lengthy period on the sidelines and his absence for the trip to Russia certainly compounds that.

This is the 20th different injury suffered by Bale during his time at the Bernabeu.
