Marco Asensio has already established himself as one of Real Madrid‘s rising stars, but he’s looking to go beyond that this season.

The Spaniard played the full 90 minutes in Los Blancos’ 2-0 win over Getafe last Sunday as the European champions got their La Liga campaign off to a fine start.

“My first aim is always to triumph at Real Madrid, and then you never know what can happen,” he said to GQ when asked about his future.

“I have already had the opportunity to be a starter in very important matches in both Madrid and the national team and I hope that each time I can become more important and play more regularly for both.”

“I try not to pay too much attention to the expectations placed on me.

“It is normal that so many have been generated because I have had two very good years at Real Madrid.

“I just hope to keep surpassing these expectations.”
