Luka Modric has been handed a bumper pay increase by Real Madrid, putting the mercurial playmaker on the same financial terms as team-mate Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale.

According to Marca, the Whites have agreed fresh terms with the 32-year-old Croatian and secured his long-term Bernabeu future amid interest from Inter Milan.

Reportedly, Modric will earn around €8m-per-season while it is thought his contract will now be extended beyond 2020.

Recently, club president Florentino Perez as well as new boss Julen Lopetegui have spoken of how important the Croatian World Cup hero is to Real moving forward, despite his advancing years.
