Marco Asensio set to lead the line for Real Madrid next season as Eden Hazard link diminishes

Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui has placed his full trust in Marco Asensio to lead the Los Blancos line next season, according to Marca.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo‘s summer departure, the 22-year-old is set to become the Whites’ main No.9 and be given the chance to fulfill his immense potential.

Real are thought to be unwilling to shell out a world-record fee on Chelsea‘s Eden Hazard, and given pursuits for Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski have not progressed, Asensio is the man in possession to burden the club’s goal responsibilities in 2018/19.

Karim Benzema is set to only be a back-up next term alongside Borja Mayoral while the stage is set for Asensio to improve upon his 11-goal haul last time out.
