Vinicius Junior ready to ‘sacrifice’ himself to make the Real Madrid starting line-up

Real Madrid’s newest starlet Vinicius Junior insists he will not get swept away by the glitz and glamour of being a Galactico.

Vinicius, who turned 18 earlier this month, was unveiled at a press conference on Friday after Los Blancos shelled out €40 million to whisk him away from Flamengo.

He had already played 69 times for the Brazilian side’s first-team – scoring 14 goals – and has netted 17 times in 20 games for Brazil’s Under-17s.

A move to the Champions League holders, however, is the ultimate step up and the attacker is adamant he will not let the dream slip by resting on his laurels.

“It is the greatest opportunity that a player can have, I am going to sacrifice a lot to show that I deserve this opportunity,” said Vinicius, who enters the club just days after Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus.

“I come from a very simple background and I have been taught many values, now I have reached the best club in the world at only 18 years old.

“I will show my coach and colleagues that I am ready to play.”
