Zinedine Zidane has no regrets about resigning from his post as Real Madrid manager last month and has instead expressed his delight at having some downtime.

The French legend bowed out after guiding Los Blancos to a third successive Champions League trophy.

“I’ve got my feet up and am feeling good,” Zidane told AFP at the inauguration of a playground in Paris.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do,” he added. “The most important thing is the decision I’ve taken, the rest we’ll see.”

The 45-year-old is pleased that he managed to step down during a period of success and insists it was the right time for a change.

Zidane also revealed that he was no longer confident of maintaining the standard and frequency of success he achieved.

The former French international also confirmed that no other job in football influenced his decision to quit.

Madrid are yet to appoint Zidane’s successor with several high-profile names in the mix.
