Despite recently signing a new deal at Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino is considered the favourite to replace Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid manager.

However, it’s Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp who seems to be the popular choice among fans.

Following Zidane’s shock resignation on Thursday, AS.com ran a poll and Klopp, whose side lost to Los Blancos in the Champions League final last month, won the majority of votes among fans for who should be the next Madrid head coach.

The Liverpool manager got 41 per cent of the 120,000 votes, beating Pochettino’s 34 per cent, Joachim Low’s 15 per cent and Arsene Wenger’ nine per cent.

However, Klopp’s contract at Liverpool runs until 2022 and the German clearly has every intention to remain at Anfield next season having already added Naby Keita (whose signing was agreed last summer) and Fabinho from AS Monaco.
