Lucas Vazquez is set to start at right full-back for Real Madrid in Tuesday’s crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu.

The Spaniard, who played the entire match at the Allianz Arena – starring on the right-hand side of midfield, will be used by Zinedine Zidane in a different role to cover for the absence of the injured Dani Carvajal.

Los Blancos are short of defensive cover with Carvajal’s hamstring problem creating a void in defence while Nacho – who can also play as a right-back – will miss the match with a similar complaint.

Vazquez, who is trusted with the responsibility of switching positions more than the option of bringing in promising youngster Achraf Hakimi, has the tough task of shackling flying winger Franck Ribery.

The 26-year-old will though have the experience of Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane and Marcelo alongside him as the Whites look to advance and build on their 2-1 advantage.
