Real Madrid player ratings as Cristiano Ronaldo scores brace in 3-1 win over Getafe

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid beat Getafe 3-1 in a La Liga clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night.

Gareth Bale opened the scoring before the Portuguese added a goal in each half while he also had an effort wrongly disallowed for offside.

Getafe did pull a goal back through Francisco Portillo from the spot after a controversial penalty call.

Here, we rate the Real Madrid players from the encounter.

STARTING XI

Keylor Navas 7 – Made a few routine saves but was beaten from the spot.

Sergio Ramos 7 – What Ramos lacks in tracking runs, he makes up for with forward runs of his own. None paid off on this occasion but it still had Getafe scrambling at times and was fun to watch. Didn’t do a lot of defending but played out from the back excellently.

Theo Hernandez 6 – Almost went through the match unnoticed. That’s a good thing. Right?

Nacho Fernandez 7 – Was good at the back and made an excellent tackle on Jorge Molina which was wrongly deemed a penalty.

Dani Carvajal 7 – Had a decent pop at goal in the first half and was making tracks forward at every opportunity.

Casemiro 7 – He seems to enjoy playing in a central midfield two where he doesn’t have to sit and anchor the midfield. Was happy to leave that to Marcos Llorente while he went around winning possession.

Marcos Llorente 6 – Accurate with his passing, no doubt, but also safe and how do we put this – boring.

Gareth Bale 7 – Got the ball rolling with a fine opener before continuing to tease us by being the mixed bag he’s been in recent times, even striking the post late on.

Isco 6 – Seemed off his game so resorted to whipping in crosses. Someone should advise him otherwise with only one of his eight attempts finding a team-mate.

Karim Benzema 7 – Continues to play the play-making but non-goal-scoring striker role to perfection. Tidy assist for Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo 9 – Could’ve had a hat-trick but for the linesman – as he will be telling everyone all the way home. Quick feet and clinical strike for his first and towering header for his second. Bring on PSG.

Real Madrid

SUBSTITUTES

Marcelo 7 – Teams should be more concerned of a fresh Marcelo coming off the bench than a full-fledged winger. Had Getafe on skates.

Mateo Kovacic 5 – Didn’t really get involved after coming on.

Marco Asensio 6 – Didn’t have much to do apart from one cross after being introduced.
