Former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo backs Neymar to coexist with Cristiano Ronaldo if club can tempt him from PSG

Former Real Madrid and Barcelona striker Ronaldo, who is among a select group of players to have featured for both clubs, has weighed in on the rumours linking compatriot Neymar with a move to the Spanish capital.

A move to their bitter rivals would no doubt rankle Barca fans, especially after the contentious way the Brazilian left the club to join PSG last summer.

There have been suggestions that Neymar would struggle to coexist with Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, but the latter’s namesake brushed aside such talk.

“Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are compatible together, they are two good players who would be better together than in separate teams,” Ronaldo said.

“If Neymar decides at some point that he wants to leave [PSG] then Real Madrid should take care to bring him in.

“Once a player decides to leave, nobody can stop it.

“It happened to me, but I don’t know if it is a similar situation.”
