Neymar has handed Brazil a fitness boost ahead of the World Cup by returning to training with Paris St Germain.

The forward, who has not played since suffering a fractured metatarsal in February, returned to “partial team training” at the Parc des Princes on Thursday, the Ligue 1 champions said in a statement.

The club confirmed Neymar would not play in PSG’s final game of the season against Caen on Saturday.

He will travel to Brazil on Thursday night to continue his recovery as planned ahead of the World Cup.

Brazil face Croatia in a friendly at Anfield on June 3 and take on Austria a week later before they kick off their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on June 17.
