Mohamed Salah is a hero.

No, that’s not just because of his superhuman efforts on the pitch for Liverpool and Egypt this season. It’s because he is now officially a comic book hero.

In the latest issue of Nour, a comic book for eight- to 18-year-old children published by The World Association for Al Azhar Graduates – alumni of Cairo’s Al Azhar University – Salah has been depicted as a superhero who helps resolves conflicts between children.

Comic book or not, Salah is revered as a hero in Egypt after leading the country to their first World Cup appearance in 28 years.

The Egypt talisman has been named to the national team’s final 23-man squad for the tournament, despite going off injured in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
