Manchester United eyeing Massimiliano Allegri as Jose Mourinho replacement

Massimiliano Allegri is among one of Manchester United‘s top options should they choose to replace manager Jose Mourinho, according to Calciomercato.

The Premier League club have made contact with Allegri’s entourage, and received a positive response from the Juventus manager.

Though United have repeatedly claimed that they have no intention of sacking Mourinho, a poor start to the season has seen the Portuguese boss constantly linked with an exit, especially given his strained relationship with several players.

Allegri is committed to Juventus, who have won seven straight Serie A titles and reached the Champions League final twice in the last four seasons.

However, he has previously stated that he would be open to a move to England, and he was often linked to the Arsenal job as the north London club looked for a successor to Arsene Wenger. Now, it seems a move further north may be in the offing.
