‘I wouldn’t pay to watch us’: Jose Mourinho bemoans Man United’s preseason loss to Liverpool

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says the fans who came to watch his side take on Liverpool at Michigan Stadium in a preseason friendly on Saturday wasted their money.

“The atmosphere was good, but if I was them I wouldn’t come,” Mourinho said after an under-strength side lost 4-1 to their bitter rivals.

“I wouldn’t spend my money to see these teams.”

United’s squad for their tour of the US has been depleted by the World Cup, with first-team stars Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, and Romelu Lukaku among the biggest names missing.
