Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has provided a glimpse of the training regime that has fueled his meteoric rise to one of the world’s best players.

“Normally, I get up early to go for training which starts either in the morning in the afternoon,” the 25-year-old said in an interview with Egyptian network ON Ent.

“Then I come here for recovery for almost two hours. Therapy for any injuries or specific massage so you mitigate any suffering of your body.

“After that, I go to the gym here at the club which is optional for players. After training, I do stretching and recovery again. Finally, I go to the pool at the club or with Macca (daughter) at home. I finish all these activities around 7 or 8pm.

“Training is not that long but I prolong the training in order to be ready for the coming matches.”

Salah also revealed the input manager Jurgen Klopp, who has been instrumental in unlocking the Egyptian’s potential, provides in his training.

“I arrange the whole process with the coach since he has the final word about all these activities but he gives us the choice to go to the gym, or do therapy but shooting and finishing training must be done through him.”
