Lionel Messi has admitted he would swap one of his many Barcelona trophies for a crack at glory with Argentina.

Messi, 30, has won 32 trophies with his club, but hasn’t lifted anything with La Albiceleste.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s latest chance to overturn this situation comes at the imminent World Cup 2018.

Speaking to Argentinean TV channel El Trece, the forward revealed his desperation to taste international success.

“I would change a Barcelona title for one with the national team,” Messi said.

“Winning a title with Argentina would be something unique.”

Messi lost 1-0 during extra time of World Cup 2014’s decider to Germany of World Cup 2014 with Argentina, plus the 2015 and 2016 Copa America showpieces.

Jorge Sampaoli’s men will battle Iceland (June 16), Croatia (June 21) and Nigeria (June 26) in Group D at the World Cup, starting next month.
