New Monaco head coach Thierry Henry has received the firm backing of mentor Roberto Martinez.

Henry, 41, joined Belgium’s coaching staff two years ago as second assistant to the Spaniard and played a guiding role in their run to third place at World Cup 2018. He was promoted to assistant in August, but resigned this month to take his first No1 post with the Ligue 1-outfit.
