Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid has made life easy for Barcelona.

The right-back spoke about his fellow Portugal team-nate and how his departure has affected Los Blancos. Semedo believes that Real Madrid would have been more competitive with Ronaldo in their team.

“Real Madrid have noticed his absence a lot,” Semedo said about Ronaldo on the ‘Vamos a Jogo’ show on SIC, a Portuguese TV channel, Marca.

“I cannot say that it was bad for us that Cristiano left.

“With him it would have been a more difficult league for us, more competitive.”

The 25-year-old drew comparison to how Barcelona would suffer if Lionel Messi decided to leave the club anytime. Despite being able to churn out results, the Catalans are just not the same without the Argentine.

“He [Ronaldo] is a player that requires a lot of attention and care,” Semedo added.

“Without Leo we would play well, but not the same.”
