Atletico Madrid attacker Alvaro Morata insists his team will fight for both La Liga and Champions League titles.

Diego Simeone’s men struggled to a 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday thanks to a late strike from Antoine Griezmann.

Morata, who endured a turbulent time at Chelsea before switching to Madrid on loan last month, provided the pass for Griezmann to score with 16 minutes remaining.

And despite subpar performance, the Spaniard was pleased to grab all three points at Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas.

“(It was a) fundamental victory and three golden points for us,” he told Marca.

“It seems easy but it is very difficult to win here.

“We managed to do it and we are very happy.”

The former Real Madrid man wants Atletico to aim high and try to win both domestic and European crowns.

“We have the Champions League and we have LaLiga (to play for).

“We will fight in the competitions in which we are still alive.

“We are Atletico and we have the mission of going for everything,” he stated.
