Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has warned of a “wounded” Real Madrid in Sunday’s El Clasico at the Camp Nou.

Real went into the weekend’s fixtures four points adrift of La Liga leaders Barcelona in seventh place, having picked up only one point from a possible 12.

But Valverde, who is without the injured Lionel Messi, said at his pre-match press conference: “The more wounded Real Madrid are, the more dangerous they are.

“They have the quality to come back and they are a great team. I am expecting Real Madrid at their best.”
