Real Madrid may be going through a rough patch with Julen Lopetegui’s job under threat but according to Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, that only makes them more of a threat.

The two sides will battle in the latest installment of El Clasico on Sunday.

When Barca went three games without a win last month, Valverde was coming under the same heat his counterpart continues to endure.

However, Lionel Messi led the way in a fine victory over Tottenham at Wembley which seemed to put the Catalans back on track.

Valverde is not taking anything for granted though.

“Madrid will be even more dangerous,” Valverde said on Wednesday. “They will come here to demonstrate all the strength they have.”

“They will come out here to face us and although they come in crisis will want to demonstrate their strength, which they have because they have great players.

“We must forget about today… I do not trust these situations.”
