ANTONIO SANABRI (Sporting de Gijón) – 8.74
Antonio Sanabria scored a magnificent hat-trick at a vital time. Gijon’s 5-1 defeat of Real Sociedad sees the club climb out of the Primera Division relegation zone. The Paraguay international, on loan from Roma, demonstrated his rounded abilities with goals from close-in as well as a great strike from the 18-yard box.
ARITZ ADURIZ (Athletic Bilbao) – 8.70
The 34-year-old has is dominating La Liga’s goalscoring charts, netting more than Messi, Suarez, Karim Benzema and Neymar this season. The diminutive striker bagged a brace in Sunday’s 5-2 home win against Eibar, taking his tally to a stunning 25 goals in all competitions this season.
JONY RODRIGUEZ (Sporting de Gijón) – 7.70
If Sanabri was Batman, then left winger Jony was his Robin. The pacey Spaniard was instrumental in all of the striker’s goals, whether making decoy runs or delivering superb crosses. A superb engine and a real handful to mark for opposition defences.
LUKA MODRIC (Real Madrid) – 7.33
Croatian Modric is flourishing at Real Madrid under Zinadine Zidane and despite the team failing to win for the first time under the Frenchman, Modric’s reputation was enhanced still. With his consistent sniping runs, high energy and his trademark through balls it is unsurprising the midfielder is back in the top five.
ANTONIO ADAN (Real Betis) – 7.25
Real Betis had no right to draw this game, given their lack of prowess infront of goal and the bombardment Madrid sent Betis’ way. However goalkeeper Adan had other ideas and denied his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo from close range, before unbelievably catching a hard volley from Isco.
