Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer expressed his disapproval of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s decision to publicly express his frustration over lack of minutes with the national side.

The Barcelona custodian had earlier claimed he has proved himself worthy of landing a starting role with his country and that not achieving it has frustrated him.

Ter Stegen enjoyed a brilliant season with the Spanish giants but Germany manager Joachim Low’s trust in the Bayern keeper has been unwavering.

Neuer praised his countryman but maintained that the goalkeepers must stick together in a big team.

“I think he’s a good keeper and he is performing well, but I’m not sure if that helps us,” Neuer told Sky in relation to Ter Stegen’s complaints.

“We are a team and should present ourselves as such.

“We have great goalkeepers. We have Kevin Trapp, Bernd Leno… these are all great goalkeepers who also want to play and then sit on the bench.

“We are a team. We have to stick together. The goalkeepers also have to stick together.”
