Antoine Griezmann said it is ‘weird’ and ‘a pity’ that neither he nor any of his France teammates made the three-man shortlist for this year’s FIFA The Best award.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mo Salah were all nominated for The Best Men’s Player award – where the winner will be announced on September 24.

Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Raphael Varane were all hoping to make the cut after winning the World Cup, however none of the players made the final three.
