Watch: Lionel Messi can’t watch after Isco’s hat-trick goal against Argentina

Argentina had a dreadful night against an on-song Spain side on Tuesday, suffering a 6-1 defeat in their international friendly at the Metropolitano stadium.

A stellar performance by Real Madrid star Isco helped him get a hat-trick as Diego Costa, Thiago Alcantara and Iago Aspas too got on the scoresheet to add to Argentina’s misery.

Indeed, Jorge Sampaoli’s team were so poor that their star man, Lionel Messi, who missed the game as a precautionary measure due to his hamstring injury, simply couldn’t watch the game any longer after Isco scored Spain’s sixth goal.

Messi decided he had seen enough and left his seat vacant, a scene many cameras captured.

And while that look on the 30-year old’s face said it all, maybe now he knows the magnitude of the task that lies ahead of him when he carries the burden of the nation on his shoulders in Russia.
