KEY TRAITS

Dribbling

Sancho’s key attribute which makes him a promising prospect is his dribbling. The Englishman has good control over the ball and moves his feet swiftly. His ability to draw defenders in before sprinting away gives Dortmund a numerical advantage in the box.

Decision-making also sets him apart from the rest of the talented dribblers. The 18-year-old has a good understanding of time and space which makes him a mature player for his age and one to watch out for in the future.

Acceleration

Sancho is the fastest player in Dortmund and has been able to use this gift to its potential, with the team benefiting greatly from his pace. The youngster has clocked more than 34 kmph and has proven to be vital when Dortmund play on the counter.

The teenager is extremely quick with and without the ball at his feet and makes intelligent runs into space. His acceleration in synergy with his dribbling makes him a nightmare for any defender to take on in a one-on-one situation.

Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus have formed a great partnership

Link-up play

Sancho has formed a really good partnership with captain Marco Reus. The pair link-up very well and this partnership has eased the attacking transitions to a great extent for Dortmund.

Favre’s philosophy is founded on patient build-up and Sancho has fit in well. His versatility to play on the left, right and as a No10 makes him a unique option for Dortmund.

BEST PERFORMANCES

Sancho’s best performances have come against top opponents. The youngster has displayed composure on big stages and has remained unnerved by the weight of the fixture.

Borussia Dortmund 4-0 Atletico Madrid

Sancho made a cameo appearance towards the end of the game and scored Dortmund’s fourth goal just four minutes after coming on.

Bayer Leverkusen 2-4 Borussia Dortmund

The visitors were trailing by two goals at half time and pulled one back soon after the break. Barely a minute after Sancho was introduced, he used his acceleration to launch a quick counter and set Reus up for the equaliser.

Borussia Dortmund 3-2 Bayern Munich

Yet another clutch fixture and the 18-year-old stepped up big time. Sancho started Der Klassiker and had a huge impact on the game. He had no assists or goals to show for but created a lot of chances which Paco Alcacer and Reus failed to bury. Mats Hummels had a tough time dealing with the youngster and was taken off after the hour mark.
