Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has admitted that he would be open to a move to the Premier League if he decides to leave the club.

Kroos, who has under 18 months left on his current contract, is yet to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga champions and has been linked with a number of English clubs.

Speaking ahead of Bayern’s Champions League last 16 match with Arsenal on Tuesday, the German international confessed that the Premier League was a viable option.

"No decision has been made," said Kroos.

"It is no secret the Premier League is a possibility.”

"I've heard that people have written that I might go to England. But there's nothing new from my point of view.”

"The situation is that I don't have any agreement right at the moment at Bayern.

“On the other side there is no agreement in place anywhere.”

Kroos has played an instrumental role in Bayern’s success this season, which has seen the club stretch their leader to 23 points at the top of the Bundesliga.

The 24-year-old has missed just two matches during the campaign so far, while starting all seven of the team’s European fixtures.

Given Kroos’ importance and youth, coach Pep Guardiola admitted he hoped the midfielder stayed at Bayern for years to come.

"Toni's a great talent. I hope he maintains his form this season – and for more seasons at this club," said Guardiola.

"He's young. He can improve. I've told him I can make him an even better player.”

Bayern go into their second leg with Arsenal 2-0 up after the first 90 minutes, in which goals from Kroos and Thomas Muller gave them an important victory at the Emirates.
