Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who has recently been back training with Jurgen Klopp’s men, compared his former team-mates’ celebrations during Wednesday night’s Capital One Cup quarter-final victory over Southampton to mid-noughties UK boyband Blazin’ Squad.

Gerrard, who is now plying his trade with LA Galaxy in the MLS, posted a picture of Liverpool players celebrating a goal at St. Mary’s to his Instagram page – and compared Kop stars to the group – who spawned seven top 10 hits between 2002 and 2005.
