Liverpool face a long trip to Russia after being drawn with Rubin Kazan in the Europa League group stages, while Tottenham face a tricky pool with Monaco, Anderlecht and another journey east – to Azerbaijani side Qarabag. 

The Reds also face Bordeaux and FC Sion as boss Brendan Rodgers aims to better his last campaign in the competition, which ended in a last-32 away goals defeat to Zenit St Petersburg in 2013. 

Group A saw Celtic being drawn with Molde, Dutch giants Ajax and Turkish powerhouses Fenerbahce, while Thomas Tuchel's Borussia Dortmund take on Paok Thessaloniki, Krasnodar and Gabala. 

The the Europa League group stage begins on September 17 and ends on December 10.
